This series of embroidered letterforms plays with the idea of type as more than just a functional part of daily life. Embroidery is a technique that can bring a character to life through use of colour, texture and depth. These seven designs treat character forms as tactile structures considering the placement of every stitch. Each letter is embroidered onto various specialist papers reflecting fabric surfaces.
